Hi Everyone,
What is the best location for mounting an ARC hidden antenna in a truck or SUV? Rear window, side window?
Thanks,
Dean

OK Dean - I'll be the first to ask - whats an arc antenna? Do you have a link or web address so we can see what you are talking about?

I think he's talking about the decal antennas from ARC Wireless: http://www.antennas.com/products.php?id=117&rcat=142
I believe Tessco used to or still does sell something similar to these antennas.

Ok whitstu - thanks for the reference.
Dean - you did not mention what band, radio and purpose you plan on using this ant for.
For my needs this would be a bad idea but I do not use 800 Mhz radio gear.
I am thinking the performance would be lacking below 800 and still perhaps not too
good in the 800 or 900 spectrum either being its a stealth type antenna. Most stealth
antenna's are a trade off between performance and size in my experience.

Re: ARC Antenna Location
I think the radio shop bought one of these for one the DTF guys in my district. I'll check on monday and see if they ever used it. I know it was for a VHF band. I do remember them talking about it, but that has been a few months back. I wouldn't expect much out of them anyway.

- What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's
Re: ARC Antenna Location
i've used them in the past and they work but don't expect anything great out of them and don't put them over window tint. put them up high in an upright position, don't lay them down on a sunroof or anything like that. like stated earlier, if you have to hide an antennae like this you have to trade off for range and quality.
