Battery Compatability

Post by Jim1348 »

I still have a VHF HT1000, but I was recently issued an XTS5000 that has an Impress battery. Can I use the Impress battery with the HT1000? Are there fully compatible or is there any reason why they would not work together?

No, The Jedi series (HT,MT,MTS) has a different battery mounting type, Jedi series batteries lock in at the top, XTS series lock in at the bottom. not to mention the battery case is molded differently

However the Impress charger will charge both styles.

Thank you for the reply. If I charge the Jedi battery in an Impress charger will it charge at the same rate as the original charger?

It depends on what charger you had, some Jedi chargers are fast, some are painfully slow. The Impres charger is a fast charger no matter what battery it charges, how long it takes depends on what size (mah) battery it is charging or course.

Correct Grog,

I have a XTS5000R and a few MT2000's and HT1000's, I use my Impress charger to Charge all of them and it works great. the HTs due charge faster on this charger due to them being the older nicad type. Takes about a hour with the 1800mah batteries
