HT1550 XLS Out Of Band?

Post by willbird287 »

Hey all,

I have an HT1550 I would like to program out of band. I have already figured out how to do this on a conventional channel, but am wondering if I can do this on a trunked system as well...

The model I have covers the 403-470 split and the highest frequency I need to enter in the trunked system is 470.5750Mhz (just a hair squeak above the upper limit...)

Does anyone have any ideas or information on how to do this?

Thanks,
--Will

The following post is for conventional freq out of band mods..

Not so sure that you'll be able to edit the band limits on the trunking side of it though..

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

As I said earlier...I already figured out how to do it on a conventional channel, and am now looking for information for getting one of the frequencies in a trunked personality out of band as well...

Since the FPP feature wont work on trunked systems, that method wont work.

Has anyone tried modifying the CPS to allow you to enter in the out of band frequency? In theory should this work?

My reasoning is that since you can read and then program out of band information (that has been entered through the FPP loophole), that the radio itself has no guards against accepting out of band frequencies, and it is just the CPS which is not allowing this...

Has anyone tried or looked into this? This is just an idea...
