MSF5K Adjusting PL output level

Post by KF4LZA »

How do I adjust the output level of such unit. I can't get some field radios opened by the output DPL level from the transmitter. If I switch to PL it is fine. There isn't a comtroller on the unit just the unit itself.

If PL is from the MSF is being decoded properly by the mobiles and portables but DPL is not - you probably have a modulation fidelity issue. This can be caused by changing the transmit frequency significantly from what it was when the radio was initially installed - such as when moving a unit from the commercial band to the ham band - and not doing a complete alignment.

The modulation compensation adjustment should be performed in accordance with the procedure in the station service manual.
