gp 380 signalling

Post by cduda »

Hello. Have a GP380 (ht1250) full keypad. dont know much about this radio. Does this radio do MDC1200 signalling? Also just to clarify---only 1 zone, cant set up more than 1 zone? If it does do MDC1200 signalling...how do you do it?

Thanks all

PL is known as "private line", aka. ctcss, which is a low audible tone attached to carrier signal.
Then there's this 5-tone. That's a series of pre-determined signal tones, each are 70ms to 100ms long, which depends of what the signalling type is used, like zwei or CCIR for example. Sometimes first tone is set to 700ms. When the receiver gets right signals (tones), it opens the squelch to CSQ mode for a while.

Please correct me if I'm wrong or presented some of the information in a way that has no sense.. It's late here on this hour. :)
