I've installed a UHF M1225 (24F, 40w) - heliax, grounded, to a DB-201n type antenna 50 feet up. Power supply is a 25amp switching type.
Preformance is great - not a problem, with clear TX reports over 18 miles. However, every now and then, the TX audio sounds sorta flaky, or "windy", if you will, similar to the Jedi noise problem. I've noticed this on a couple M1225's now (yeah yeah....it's a Radius, whaddaya expect) - but is there a cure or explanation?

I've had this problem too, finally replaced the mic -- problem solved (for me anyway).

Try putting a little heat to the solder connections on the mic jack. I had one that did the same thing, and it ended up being a bad solder joint.
Be warned, getting to all 8 pins requires desoldering and removing the on/volume knob.
