Since the EFJ 5100 uses Moto Jedi accessories, can the 5100 use the MTX/HT1000/MTS or XTS cable.
Or does it require a different pin up?
I am trying to figure out how much my total cost of supplies and accessories would be if I buy an EFJ 5100
I am no good with wiring or building cables..I know you can build your own 5100 cable, but I was just wondering if you could substitute a MTS cable.
Thanks all, and happy holidays

Nope, it's a different cable. Yes, they can be built fairly easily...never done one myself though.

okay, just checking.
The 5100 is expensive and hard enough to find one for sale, let alone to program it...so I guess I can dream.
Thanks all

I would imagine that someone here would be willing to build you the cable at a reasonable price. As far as buying one, they are not that expensive on the used market.

I saw on another topic that EFJ direct sells them for about 90, so that isnt bad.
It's the software that is probably a hefty penny as it is radio version specific.
Either or the radios are hard enough to find used, especiallyy in VHF.
I guess thats why everyone loves them.
