XTS2500 UHF
Squelch (Fine Tune): 5
While listening to a transmission it will come in load and clear, the next thing you know you don't hear anything, yet the indicator light is flashing read and I can see PTT ID's being displayed. Is the squelch level to high? Thanks!

What is the firmware version in the radio? I know R08.01.03 had a major PL problem, and exibited similar symptoms..

Stupidity creates job security!
If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..
CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

firmware is R06.01.00...

First off that is ancient Firmware/DSP. You should upgrade that. Secondly I noticed you said PTT Id's come up. Are you operating in trunking mode/ astro25. If so is it possible you have a duplicate ID with another radio in your system? Just a few thoughts.

Help...listen to the file re:XTS2500
The URL below will bring you to an MP3 file that I recorded off of an XTS2500. The audio clip is me keying up on one radio system with another radio. The XTS receives the keyups fine, however it occasionally will squelch out big time as you will hear. It doesn't do it all the time. If I had to give it a percentage I would say it is 50% of the time. Any ideas. I'd hate to mess w/ the squelch level as I do not want to affect other channels that share the personality and I don't want to decrease the radios sensitivity. It's not just this radio system that it does it on either. I have noticed it on some other channels and not noticed it at all on some others...weird. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

yeah..I am going to get it upgraded. As far as the PTT ID's...the one channel I notice it all the time on is conventional RX only. The radio goes silent but the red light flashes and PTT ID's still display. I dunno. Perhaps all will be resolved when its upgraded.
