XTS2500 700/800

Post by pacwire »

Can a XTS2500 be used on an 800 MHZ SMARTNET IIi System? I can program the radio to the "X" Size code. But since the XTS2500 is just a Type II Radio, will it work?

Thanks!

Depends on the flashcode, but I'm sure your system administrator will have a better answer.

the xts series can do any of the systems as long as it's flashed for the correct system. you need to decode your flashcode to see what your radio is currently set up for

Thanks for the responses. But the XTS2500 can't be flashed for Analog IIi format. It can be programmed to the Type II fleet but my real question was will it work?

All of the radios on the system are either type I or IIi programmed.

Thanks Again...

I believe it will do type II only. I am not aware of any astros able to do the IIi talkgroups. You can use them on a IIi system, but with II talkgroups only. IIi systems are hybrid systems that allow the use of the older radios onto a new(er) TRS with eventual migration to a full II system.

We have 5K's on a IIi sys, they work fine, Flashed for 3600 Baud SZ. I also have my personal 5k on the same sys, it is flashed 3600/9600 SZ.

Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

Thanks for the replys...The problem I have might be in the age of the controller...not the radios. They program fine in the correct "X" fleet range.

Thanks again!
