My wife set up an account and ordered Astro Portable CPS and the programming cable as a Christmas gift. She was sold Model # RVN4181AA CPS R10.00.00. This will be used on an as yet unpurchased VHF XTS-5000 Model III with FPP that will be used on public safety frequencies I am authorized to be on and for HAM stuff.
I have read some of the messages here and it looks like version 10.00.00 CPS isn't the newest or best to have for my purposes, but the more I read the more confused I became. Can some of you experts here give me guidance and point me to resources to help me?
Thanks!

Re: Astro Portable CPS Question
it's the astro 25 cps that you are looking for and 10 is not the newest, 11 is the newest but if you have a subscription just get on the mol site and download the newest anytime you like. they just do that sometimes, they will just send you whatever disc they have still on the shelves because they know you can always download the newest versions.

Re: Astro Portable CPS Question
yep, when we ordered CPS for XTS3000/AS, they sent us 5.00 within 24 hours on MOL, the latest at the time (5.0.02) showed up.
