HT1250 flash upgrade and new case
Can I send a older HT1250 back to the depot for a version upgrade and also have them install a new YELLOW case?

you can flat rate it in to motorola but i don't think you can make requests like the housing color and it's gonna be a couple hundred dollars. you can get the firmware updated for around $40 at most motorola shops and the new housing will cost under $20 and put it on yourself. or where are you located, maybe someone on here can help you with your update? i can do it for you if you're close.

Yes, you can send the radio to the depot for a software refresh. These are normally included with any other flat-rate or warranty service, alone they are normally $85.
The depot will also probably perform the upgrade to the yellow case, however you'd have to fax in a request for an estimate for repair. Be prepared to pay full MSRP on materials and about $75 in labor, if going through the depot.
What I would recommend is getting a refurb kit and yellow housing. The refurb kit includes new knobs, buttons, keypad, and rf shield. The refurb kit runs about $35 and the yellow housing runs about $17.
edit: And to HLA, flat-rating a radio when all you need is a software refresh is ludicrous.
