i have an oldddddd original syntor mobile (not X but may be the same for the sake of the question) that is secure capable. in clear mode it beeps when the PTT is pressed to indicate you are in clear mode. i dont mind the beep, but its so loud and when the volume is down, its still fairly loud and it also comes over the repeaters. and if the volume is up its REALLY LOUD. is there any way to adjust this beep volume down? some pot in the main unit or in the secure box?
thanks for reading,
wazz

SYNTOR mobile secure capable question

Re: SYNTOR mobile secure capable question
Most Secure Syntors used an external box. If I (still) remember from my FED days, in the external box there is a resistor that feeds the alert tone into the rx audio volume control lead. I changed the resistors value so it did not blow you out of the car..
I can look in my books to make sure.

Re: SYNTOR mobile secure capable question
I remember how you could always tell someone was on a syntor, x or x9000 because the clear alert tone would bang through on TX. Quiet distinctive.
