I have had alot of radios give the 01/82 scenario when I had a bad programming cable. It took alot of tries to load the codeplug back in and sometimes you have to break the connection each attempt, but I cannot recall of the CPS stating inhibited. Is it possible that you radio got stunned by the system you were on.

It has to be more than stunned, it had a 4 ham frequencies programmed into it when it happened. as for the programming cable, it works just fine on the other radios. I'll try breaking the connection and see what happens.

Yeah, I have also seen a fail 01/82 codeplug give a false "inhibited" message from the CPS. It all depends on where in the codeplug the corruption lies.

FYI, an inhibited radio never gives a fail or error code...the radio simply appears dead after successfully completing the wakeup or "self test" cycle.
