PRO SERIES PUBLIC SAFETY MICS

Post by kb9suy »

I talked to my old boss from the radio shop I use to work at before I left and he was telling me that the vhf public safety mic for the ht pro series has been on back order for 4 months. He called motorola and they advised that they were redesigning the microphone and putting shorter cables on. I remember seeing a new style mic for the pr860 in a motorola advertisement on the batboards along time ago but nothing ever came to about it. Wondering if anyone has heard the same. suppose to be out the beginning of january

Yes, Motorola is canceling the current PS RSMs for the pro series and releasing a new design that does not have the "claw" that the current RSMs do

Both models are canceled upon depletion and according to /\/\ the new models will be ready for shipment within the next month or so

From what I understand, there are going to be two cable lengths available now, 24" and 30"

I was not aware the VHF ones have been on backorder for so long, I put a few on order last week and they are on "backorder" status, so what you said about this makes sense

THANK GOD! I have been waiting for this to happen for eight years when I bought my first HT1250 PSM! (no kidding) I have been told by Motorola since 2003 that they were working on this and I have had several posts in regard to this. I can't wait for the new design to become available. Anyone who sees this first, please let the rest of us know.

Yeh soon as they become availabe my old boss is going to call me so i can come inspect it. Im looking forward to seeing it. Finnally it might be a worth while package of a radio. How many years did it take to finnally get the design of the radios and accessories right.

I just noticed on MOL that the HT1250 PSM with 24" cable has a part number of RMN5076A. It is not available yet, but at least there is a part number. Has anyone seen one of these yet?

I received my PSM in mid-Decmber and it is really nice. Koutos to /\/\ for finally getting this project done. About 8 years overdue, but hey, at least they finally got me a PSM that is worth using for my VHF waris radios. I'm very pleased.
