CPS version for EX560XLS

Post by tbski »

Hello,
I am inquiring as to what version of CPS would i need for the EX560XLS?
I tried to read the radio with my older version CPS and it tells me that the unit is not supported or something to that effect.
Thanks.

Is it possible that your version of the CPS was written before the EX560 was introduced? I believe the current version, HVN9025U R06.09.06 supports the EX560 and its variants(it supports all the EX series).

Yes, thank you. I am running CPS R06.04.00.
Apparently it is time to spend a chunk of money for an upgrade from Moto. Never bothered before as the version i had has worked for me.
Thanks again for your assistance.

6.04 does not support any of the ex radios, 6.05 was the first version that worked with the ex's

That is incorrect. The first version that supported EX radios was 6.01.00. At the time we were using 6.00.00, which could read the EX500 radio, but gave an error upon trying to write. Upgrading to 6.01.00 fixed that issue. Now, it's possible the EX500 was the only supported EX radio for 6.01.00...the upgrades came pretty quickly & by the time we needed to program an EX600XLS, we were probably using 6.05.00 anyway, although methinks it might've been 6.02.05...

i figured all of the ex's were the same support and i remember having to upgrade to 6.05 to do some ex600's, maybe the 500's were different?

Well, they came out first, thus their model numbers were recognized by the earlier CPS versions. Are you sure it wasn't EX600XLS units you had to upgrade for? The EX600 was discontinued in 2002.
