HT 1000 intermittant
I have a VHF HT1000 that is intermittantly dead. It is not the battery. What can cause this?

Thats a broad one. My guess is you tried more than 1 battery! Did you open it up at a glance check the flex? speaker, I would put it on some meters, service monitor.
So when you say Dead, dead like no power for a timeframe? then its on again? battery terminals in & out? maybe need cleaning? Does it work at all -- tx & rx ?

the Jedi frames use male, spring-loaded pins to contact the battery terminals. I have seen radios where, on one or more of the pins, the spring seems to have become detached, so that the pin sometimes makes contact and sometimes doesn't. I've never taken one apart far enough to see what repairing these pins might entail.
