Quantar firmware upgrade - need help upgrading codeplug vers

Post by oh2lak »

Ok, I managed to upgrade the firmware on my Quantro. I only have RSS R10 with which I've been happy as the station had R16 firmware.

Now I'm stuck with station not getting up, and apparently the reason is that the codeplug is too old. I have the R16 CP (version 10) stored, so I believe I'm in good shape.

Here's what I get out of the station through RSS:

RSS STATUS REPORT LOG
---------------------

Stn Control FW: R020.12.021
Stn Wireline FW:
Stn Exciter FW:
Codeplug Version:

SET 1:
1: 1900/01/01.00:00:00 1900/01/01.00:00:00 1 SC ROOT 665 SYS_RESET 1
2: 1900/01/01.00:00:00 1900/01/01.00:00:00 2 SC READ_SC_CODEPLUG 595 SWARE INCOMPAT_CODEPLUG
3: 1900/01/01.00:00:00 1900/01/01.00:00:00 1 SC ROOT 665 SYS_RESET 2
4: NO MORE MESSAGES

The wireline card is plugged out, but I'm bothered why I don't see the exciter there. It is plugged in and it goes through the initialization but remains in 'PA FAIL' state. Most propably because of the station control issue.

If you can assist with upgrading the codeplug or other ways, please contact me via email or PM.

..

Contact Motorola and update your Quantar RSS subscription.

Your station firmware, R020.12.021 requires RSS R12.02 or newer for compatibility.

The compatible exciter firmware for this release should be P.N. PC509E02M000009010 which should report as version 020.09.010
