HT1000 sidebutton Scan on/off-- alert tone?

Post by tdc4125 »

I'm programming an HT1000 "D" revision radio (using R03.03.00) and have the side buttons programmed as follows:

Sidebutton 1 = Scan On/Off
Sidebutton 2 = Select Button (nuisance delete)
Sidebutton 3 = Monitor

When I push the top button, nothing happens. Shouldn't there be an alert tone of some sort to indicate whether scan is on or off? If not, how would the user know whether scan is on or off? I've checked every setting in the Alert Tone Configuration Menu but nothing sticks out.

When I press the second button, nothing happens. I have an MT2000 which gives me an error beep if I push nuisance delete when there's no active channel. Shouldn't this do the same?

When I push the third button, the Monitor function does work properly.

The top toggle switch is set to BLANK so there is no duplication of functions.

Just to make sure the hardware was actually working, I programmed sidebutton 1 as Monitor, and then programmed sidebutton 2 as Monitor, and each time these buttons worked properly.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated!

well to start with you can't nuissance delete anything if it isn't scanning first so that will probablly work as soon as you get it to scan. next do you have any channels in the scan list? it won't scan if there is nothing programmed in it. and next do you have scan enabled on the channel you are on?

Thanks for the reply.

All channels are enabled in the scan list, so I got those bases covered. Any other thoughts?

I don't believe the HT1000 indicates whether scan is on or off which is why a lot of people assign the scan stuff to the toggle switch. And as far as I know it also doesn't beep or anything when you nuisance delete a channel.

AFAIK the nuisance delete function never makes the radio beep. Rather,
the channel you want to delete from current scanning just disappears.
This is based on experience with Sabers, Astro Sabers, and XTS radios.
