Toyota 4Runner 2005

I dont have pictures today but should have some tomorrow. I know its hard to find new ideas for mounting so i want to share what I have here.

In my front grill (attached to the underside of the hood) I have two Whelen LIN3's blue/blue.

I wanted to stay small in the front window with NO flashback so I went with a SPEC8 from Whelen, its actually pretty powerful and if you cut off the top suction cup you can get it closer to the headliner with no issues at all. The other two suction cups do just fine!!!

I have hideaways in the rear tails in the red section right now and will be adding into the reverse lights if I can find the room. One single talon up top on the left. Looking for syncing talons to put one on each side, would be pimp!!

So about the radios?

Currently only one radio, no holes at all, how? this is perfect.

In the 2005 4runner the center console is like a fiberglass material. I have an MCS2000 unit, the brain is under the driver seat, magnetic antenna on the very end of the roof near tailgate, and to the right of the cup holders on the passenger side i am using suction cups to mount the radio head. I thought this idea was ingenious! It works perfectly. There is no MIC hangup but that is okay as 60% of the time I do not keep it connected.

The Speaker for the radio is located under the passenger seat.

As i promised photos shall be available soon.

Mag-mount? Epic fail.

Quit being a sissy, drill a hole. I just bought a 2008 Camry... it'll have two holes in the trunk in the next few weeks.

Not even going to get into the mag mount antenna, but...just wait until you get into an accident or a really bumpy road and that radio head and mic go flying all over the place. Not wishing you ill, but that's worse than using double sided tape.
Vote for Pedro.

so looking back on this topic (view recent posts is an awesome feature)

The suction cups hold that radio head to the center console like its nobody's business!!!!

Magnetic antenna is doing well also. I dont keep it up all the time, in fact its probably off more often than on. I am most likely swapping the MCS2000 unit for a Astro Spectra W4 Head. In any event I will snap some photos this weekend when i clean the vehicle up.

Anyone have any insight regarding the tail lights in the 05 4runner? I want to put hide-a-way strobes in the reverse light area but it looks like I will not have enough room.
