Changing region Spirit voice programmables ?

Post by RadioSouth »

Anyone know if it's reasonably possible to change the region/country on Spirit voice programmable radios ? Have a pair of MV21C that do 152.37 and 161.05 and look like they were intended for Brazilian market.

The region is coded into the microprocessor. The only way to change it is to find a comparable US verion and swap the processors. It probably still wouldn't be type accepted in the US. Check the label and see if has an FCC id. If it does it is accepted.
