hello,
i built a gmrs repeater and i have a polyphaser surge protector on it, are they a 1 time use?
if lightning hits my antenna do i need to replace the protector or are they like a resetable circuit breaker?

IIRC they are multiple strike, however they should be changed with regularity. Our (quite ancient) service contracts require our vendors to change them annually (for an ancient/per unit price
) so we make out rather well!

If you have one of those 5000A gas tube arrestors, please don't get the impression that it will protect anything; It's there stricty to keep your house from burning down. These arrestors convey a false sense of protection. A direct hit can produce upwards of 100,000A. A positve stroke can go a high as 200,000A. They are really designed for near hits, not direct hits. (from a principal of Lightning Technologies).
