I hosed the CM300 Codeplug - Overwrite?

I'll admit it - I messed up. I was tinkering with a CM300, and didn't save the codeplug. Variations number 1 through 3 wrote to the radio just fine. During the write of variation number 4, the process locked up (I suspect a weak battery in the RIB). Whatever the cause, the result was a corrupt codeplug in the CM300. Drat!

I'd very much like to attempt to clone a valid codeplug (even a stock, non-customized one) before sending the unit back to Mother Motorola. Would anyone be willing to share a UHF codeplug for this model?

The model number is AAM50RNF9AA1N.

(And yes, the funny red glow you see is my embarassment for not having saved the silly thing before I started.)

if i'm not mistaken there are basic backup or sample codeplugs that get installed with the cps for those? look around thru your cps, i'll bet you find them.

Yeah, look where the CPS is installed for a samples folder, should be a file in there for that model.

You might also want to invest in an AC supply for your RIB if you don't have one... mouser.com carries one that's perfect for the standard Moto RIB, part number 412-109033.
Cheap insurance.. I only ever run on battery if there's no nearby AC, and then I make sure I've got a fresh one.

The sample CM300 codeplug is VHF, he requires UHF. I have one if you want to PM me your email address. Be aware the CPS checks the radio first before allowing a clone or a write, so any case I've seen it simply tells you the radio codeplug is corrupt and won't allow the process to continue. In cases like that you might be able to force a firmware upgrade by starting it with a good UHF radio, and swapping in the bad radio at the point it asks you to put the radio in bootstrap mode.

My Commercial Series install has a sample directory with 125 codeplugs listed by model number, including the UHF model he mentioned.
You're probably right about it not being as easy as just dumping a good codeplug in there though. I don't recall having a corrupted CM300 yet, but I've seen quite a few of the Comm. series portables get hosed, and when they do they won't program.

Indeed, an install of the latest 5.07 CPS comes with a "sample" folder with 125 codeplugs in it...didn't exist in my earlier 5.06 version, nor others that I can recall.

Thanks for the comments. I'm going to try a couple of more efforts into convincing this thing to behave before it gets shipped home. At the very worst, it becomes an interesting educational exercise.

OK - the problem was resolved by exposing the unit to current software, which automatically corrected the problem.

can you elaborate on that some more? what exactly did you do? read the radio, write a sample codeplug to it, update firmware what did the screen say or prompt you to do?
