Visar with no display?

Visar with no display?
I was digging through a junk box the other day and found a Visar with no display and no channel select keys. I couldn't make out the model but it looked like it started with H05UCD. None of the Motorola visar manuals I have even mention a single frequency Visar. Has anyone out there seen one of these? What is the story?

These is this mention in the RSS manual, so there must be some differences. Not sure what though....

I know, I was just pointing out that the RSS manual makes a mention of it, don't have time to read further right now though.
Maybe it was a SP version and the manual mention was just in case someone got their hands on a non-display version?

Re: Visar with no display?
H05UCD6AA4DN is mentioned as "VISAR, 16 Channel, 800 MHz, no keypad". That's the only match for "H05UCD" I found so no luck there.
My vote is for SP

Interesting variation, not a cataloged item but yeah either a SP or a A3,A2,A1 model. Like to see what it reads out as.

Re: Visar with no display?
Thanks for all the replies. In trying to remember where it came from, I seem to recall a bubby giving it along with a non functional MTX8000 to me . If my somewhat foggy memory serves, he said he couldn't read it with either conventional or trunked software. He was always comming up with strange radios. I remember him having a Japanese format trunked Visar and some 180 MHz GP300s. I will try to see if I can get someone I know who has RSS to try to read it and report back.
Re: Visar with no display?
Conventional software says:"Radio model not supported." Trunked software starts to read then a box comes up saying "Checksum failure." My guess is that this is some special model or, most likely, someone tried to force a codeplug in. Controller part number is NTN7405A, RF board is NTN7404A. It gives a short "bloop" instead of "bleep" when powered on. PTT does nothing. Oh well, back to the junk box with it. I might plug the RF board up to a working controller to see if it works.
