Com Series Patch Tool

Post by arlojanis »

I have tried the new Commercial Series Patch Tool for Codeplug Corruption and did not repair the radio. If you have had success with it, please list your steps.

The accompanying release notes state that the tool will allow recovery of *some* instances of comm series portables having firmware revs of R03.01.02 and earlier. The second to last bullet in the notes states(underlined): "If the above procedures do not recover the radio then the radio will need to be returned to the Depot Service Center for repair."

The codeplug tool is only capable of reversing certain internal failure codes within the radios (CP200 and PR400).

Engineering still has not identified all of the root causes of the internal failure codes, so the patch tool is a temporary workaround that will help alleviate some of the corruptions, but not all.

Just out of curiousity, what chemistry battery was being used on the radio when it took a dump?
