HT 1250 Help

Post by Bartman »

I need some help trying to figure out a HT-1250. We have a radio that will seem to just go crazy occasionally. Once a month or so it gets an "EPROM" error. Just recently when it is turned on it will come up "Unprogrammed". With both the radio is basically dead until the battery is removed and re-installed, then is works fine again for a while. the same person that the radio is assigned has had the same problem with the same model before this one. They are all programmed the same and this is the only radio that it seems to happen to. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

What firmware does it have? Has it ever been updated?

"Unprogrammed", usually with an error low tone, generally means that the channel selector is set for a slot that has not been programmed for the current zone. The "cure" is to move the channel selector or select a new zone.

first question i would ask is;

"what is this person doing to this radio?"

(home programming, high static environment, exposure, drops, bad charger...etc)
"How do you plan to outwit Death?"

I am thining it may have something to do with stadic. It is not being re-programmed and not sure if it is the same charger or not. Should I have him change the charger? Would stadic cause this to occur. That was my first guess but do not know enough about it.

Thanks.
