wildcard box

Post by cfd1736 »

I will be using one for my up coming install and I have a few questions for you.
I understand that it is for low amp switching (1 amp or less) so I will
have to use relays, not a problem. I just don't know which contact to
use. I have the wiring diagram but I am pretty much lost from there. I
understand that pins 1 and 17 are used to control the lights for the box
itself, and the other pins are used for the relay control. Do I use the
N.C. Common or N.O. pins for that? If I use the NC, I see from the diagram
that there isn't a NC for switch 4, what do I do then? I will be using the
box to control LED's for the most part, and I want to take advantage of the
2 momentary switch so I can change the flash patterns of the leds on the
fly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

This topic has been covered extensively. Searching for HLN1196 brings up many results. The info on batlabs is posted here http://www.batlabs.com/x9000.html but I suspect based on your description you've already seen it or something similar.

Pretty simple on Switch 4, don't use it for something you'd want to use a N.C. contact for :) (If you're using it for lights then I imagine you really wouldn't want to use any N.C. contacts anyway).
