PM1500 Auto Power On Issue

Post by MB »

Our PM1500s used to automatically power on and power off with the vehicle's ignition.

They were recently reprogrammed with Astro 25 Mobile CPS R11.00.00 RVN4185AA. Now you have to manually turn the radio on and off.

No where in the CPS can we find an option to automatically power on and off the radio with the ignition. Are we missing something? Why did we loose this function? All we did is read the radios and change some frequencies around?

Try looking under Radio Wide, Advanced tab. I don't have a PR1500 file, but that's where it is for the XTLs using the Astro Mobile CPS.

Thats the first place I looked.

The only thing that is even close is the "Ignition Switch" option. The options are:
Blank - powers on and off with power button press.
Tx Inhibit - powers on and off with power button press, however when ignition is not present certain communications are not possible.
PTT Tx Inhibit - same as above but PTT button transmission are inhibited without ignition present.

As you can see, for some reason there is no options to control the radio power via the ignition switch anymore.

Anyone have any ideas?

Could it have something to do with FLASHport? Should I Read the Radio Configuration, or Read FLASHkey Configuration?

I am at a loss here..

/\/\ "quality" once again

I guess /\/\ does not even bother to test their software when they do an update, right? How many issues are there with a new software version? I'd think if I spend a few grand on a radio, I'd not have to be a beta tester when I program it.

Aw, c'mon... Moto's weekly CPS updates are great! You get to reinstall the software every time you want to program a new radio, and each version has great new features they won't tell you about and you'll never ever use. Now isn't that better than something like Kenwood software, where the same version just works year after year after year? Boring!

edit: Holy geez! a 150meg download just to fix that one thing.. didn't they ever hear of a @&$#@ patch?

If you have the software allready, how do you go about getting the updates? I don't see anything on the website:
