OT: Finding radio mounting brackets

Post by rcit »

Howdy,

I have a bunch of older mobiles (various makes/models) and I need to find suitable mounting brackets. For instance I have and love some Icom IC-V100 and U400 radios that I would like to mount in some vehicles. Problem is there's no brackets to be found...anywhere. Tried ebay for ever, even Icom....no luck.

Anybody know a decent way to fab up a bracket or find something suitable?
Cheers,
Darcy

Many universal mounting brackets are available from mfgrs like Gamber-Johnson, PanaVise, and some others.

Check tessco.com and other radio accy dealers.

You can also get some 1-inch wide aluminum strapping at Home Depot and bend and drill your own.
