Does anyone know enough about the Impres algorithm to answer this question?
If an Impres battery were left continually in an Impres charger, how often would the charger completely drain and recharge it? One example would be a cache of radios left continually in a charger for disaster or other low use situation. Would the battery eventually get "worn out" from repeated cycling?
What happens if Impres battery left in charger continuously?

it won't overcharge if that's what you are asking? and as far as worn out, it won't be any different than being used on a radio, there is a lifetime on the battery and it won't last forever but the charger is not a bad place for it to be. is the latest firmware in the charger?

My understanding of the operation of the Impres charger is that the charge requires that you 1.) put the battery in the charger, then,
2.) remove it and put it back in the charger, which starts the conditioning process.
Once the process is done the charger stays in trickle mode and it won't start
another recycling process until you pull and replace the battery again.

Re: What happens if Impres battery left in charger continuously?
It's doubtful the battery will be worn out in any appreciable fashion.
Impres charges will cut the charge to a full battery and will not go back into trickle charge until the battery is at about 95% cap. Maybe a bit lower. It will not trickle charge Li-Ion batteries, since Li-Ion and trickle mode do not mix well.
I would suspect the charger would periodically force a conditioning.
Certainly it would be better for the battery in the long run as opposed to sitting on a standard charger that will trickle endlessly, which winds up being dissipated as heat when the battery is at full charge.
