Post by firebuff17 »

Hello,
Just looking to see if someone can verify this info that I have. Its an MTS2000 Uhf 403-470 ??Model II?? (14 charc Disp, 6 Button Front)
Here is what I have.

Flashcode 209108-104600-2 Flashport Firmware Version R06.53

MODEL # H01RDF9PW1BN

H260 - 250 Modes
G170/H43 - Remote Monitor and Radio Trace
H46 - One-Touch Operation
H39 - Selective Radio Inhibit
H38/G51 - Smartzone Operation
Q181 - Add StatAlert MDC1200 Features
H270/H738 - MDC Status Message
Q387 - Conventional voting scan
Q173/G173 - Smartzone OmniLink Operation
Multi Mode Scan, Multiple PL

Also, If I am understanding this right I have 250 channel trunking radio that is able to do conventional as well. How are the zones set up if its 250 channel conventional?

Thank you,
Josh S.

What radios do you own?: XTS2500, XTS5000, and MTS2000

yes, this is a limited keypad (6 key) full display UHF range 1 (403-470) MTS2000. Fairly recent firmware and decent flashcode, capable of MDC on conventional and 250 modes.

you would have to create a single conventional personality for each conventional mode (channel) you want in the radio. It can take some time if you have to start from scratch, easier always to drag and drop from other UHF codeplugs.

Okay thank you for the reply.

I figured it will take some time. I am going to be doing 10 zones with about 10-12 channels per zone.

I forgot to ask
Ihave Rss version 6.0.0, I noticed that the firmware version on the radio in question is 6.53.
This means my RSS is too old to program this radio correct?

Thank you

most likely it is. 6.00 is almost a decade old.

The last DOS based RSS that ran MTS2000 I believe was 6.05 after that MTS2k became strictly windows based. For making 250 conventional channels I'd just use the Windows version might save you in the long run.

6.08 was last DOS RSS released for the MTSX series including MTS2000, IIRC it came out when CPS 1.10 was released. Once a radio is written with any version of CPS, there is no reverting to RSS of any version.

Incorrect. The initial CPS releases for the MTSX radios were also RSS compatible. Later versions were not RSS compatible.

I believe he is refering to the codeplug versions that are incredibly difficult to "down" version. Love the big M's way of forcing you to keep up to date with your sub. LOL
