Jedi radio MT2100 - wrong codeplug installed- any solution?

Post by g8tzl2004 »

I have recently acquired an MT2100 which has the wrong codeplug installed - my MT2100 is a 4/5W radio with a 14 character front LCD and 16 step rotary.

The codeplug installed is for a 1W radio with a continuous rotary (NOT 16 step) - the PA soft pot has been tweaked on just one frequency to give "5W "output (setting of 111 compared to all other soft pots of 62 - 65!!!!).

My MT2100 does work even with the wrong codeplug. However , there is a receive problem (chuffing noise on weak signals until inject carrier - OK on medium/strong signals)- BUT I don't think this problem is due to the wrong codeplug (I am planning on swapping RF boards).

The "standard" MT2100 RSS enables the creation of different radio codeplugs.

Do I simply need to create a new codeplug to match the radio (5W/16 channel rotary) and write it to the radio. Or do I need to use some LAB RSS to change the codeplug?

Thanks
