M1225 with XP

Post by firefighter2000 »

Can an M1225 be programmed with XP? We have a load or M1225s. We're using I believe 3.1 version and they wont read. If we need to use a newer version, looks like were a little bit screwed. May have to buy the newest software from /\/\, or pay the 35 per radio and wait the couple of weeks for our local stealership to do. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

I am having the same problem, I think you have to get a laptop with windows 95-98 loaded on it and you will be OK.

So basically looks like we're gonna have to spend some money either way. 200-300 for the software... or 200-300 for a decent used laptop. It would be so much easier if /\/\ wasnt so stingy with their software. :o
Thanks all

Yep, you need version 4.0 for it to be XP compatible.

I bought a 386 laptop with power supply at a computer re-cycle store for $10. and used an old copy of dos 6.22. Works great and cheap. I don't use the laptop for anything but programming so i don't need anything fancy. Just a thought.
