M1225 does not have and signalling option It can not read or send MDC-1200 Unless you buy an aftermarket board

O.K., here's the system. 52 portables (cp200's which have PTT ID), 2 m1225's in a repeater configuration, 2 m1225's as base radios, and an old m120 (not used at present). We are trying to monitor which portables are accidentally keying up or otherwise goofing around. I want to put the m120 with the bases as a PTT ID monitor, the repeater should pass the signal, i just need to decode it. Batlabs said the m120 could be programmed to decode PTT ID, how? Is this in the service manual?

A much easier solution for you at this point is to pick up a Spectra or MCS2000 Model 2 or 3 and you will be able to do this with out having to have a workaround solution. The price on these surplus has come down enough to make it affordable for you to do.

Just my 2 cents....

Another approach would be to acquire an independent MDC decoder, such as the Cimarron C Plus III.
