SABER CHARGER NTN 4734A VS NTN 4734B

Post by N4KVE »

Hello. Is the "B" version better than the "A" version. Something about the "B" trickle charging after the battery is charged while the "A" doesn't. Can anyone confirm? Thanks. GARY N4KVE

Gary,

The "A" version saber charger tends to burn batteries at times. It seems to charge saber batteries longer, getting them really hot.

The "B'' version charger does not burn batteries, After a full charge, it trickle charges until you remove the battery.

I have 3 of them and they work perfect.

IIRC the "B" revision also supports NiMH chemistry as well as NiCD, in addition to the improvements in charge completion detection noted above.

Thanks for the answers guys. I have a few "A" models but don't use them. I've had good luck with the Advancetec pulse charger. Also the Impress Saber/Jedi charger has worked well for me. Not too hot. Thanks again. GARY N4KVE
