A9 to SIU HHCH A3

Post by mancow »

It has been ages since I took a crack at bit banging. In the interest of my sanity I'm hoping you guys can remind me of some basic pointers to get this done.

We spent the last couple of days setting up several dual band SIU setups. We rand short of Vhf drawers and I donated one of mine to the cause. It started life as an SIU A3 but at one point I had converted it to an A9 single radio regular setup. Now I need to convert it back. I have a codeplug saved from one of the other A3 Vhf drawers but I can't remember what all I need to do to switch it back. Is it just a matter of bit banging again or will it be more involved?

I have the rest of the setup working but the only thing stalling us is this one drawer.

I beleive all you have to do is change the model number by bitbanging, including the address with the type of control head. Take the old codeplug and CLONE it into the radio. I find the software doesn't complain as much as when you PRORAM it in.
