I've not yet seen any CPS or RSS where to scan you didn't have to first
assign the channel to a scan list and then write a scan list. After that
is done you will find the scan button works fine. If you don't do those two
things first there is no scan button, period, for the zone you're currently using.

Change "for the zone you're currently using" to "for the channel you have currently selected" and I agree.

being able to edit your scan list is the least of your worries with that old firmware, it's at least 10 years old. i'd definately see about getting that updated, it actually has to be done twice, you have to update it to 2.00 then you can bring it up to new. that will also fix all of the other issues from over the years and it will turn on new functions in the radio that yours can not do right now.

Lazy dealer. They can download the firmware from Motorola Online for free, and all that's required is the appropriate cable and flash adaptor... both parts that they should have.

one more thing to add is you have original 1.00 firmware so it will have to be upgraded to version 2.00 first then it can be updated to the newest 5.13 but all in all it only takes about 10 minutes to do the whole process and any legit dealer will do it for around $40 - $50 and in your case very very worth it.
