Programming XTS 4000

Post by Captain_J »

I'm attempting to open and modify an XTS 4000 Code Plug and keep receiving the error message, "OPEN RADIO FAILED". I'm using CPS version 11.0, which states it supports the XTS 4000 is anybody else having an issue like this.

THX for any assistance.

"Open radio failed", if memory serves, only occurs when actually reading a radio, not trying to open a codeplug. Which are you trying to do - read a plug from disk, or read a plug from the radio?

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

it sounds like you are clicking on read radio with no radio attached. if that's not the case you need to fix the path and direct the cps to the correct port.

and where did you get your hands on this radio? i thought they were gov issue only, you may need a key to read it?

Who says he isn't Government?

I recall reading something not too long ago that said the 4k will be available for general sale reasonably soon.

I would imagine, that if he were, there would be someone within his agency (or proper dealer support) to take care of programming issues with a brand new, state of the art radio...

Gentlemen, may I suggest that the speculation on the source be kept to a minimum.

Captain_J, what cable are you using? By saying "trying to open and modify a codeplug", do you mean you're trying to read the radio, modify the programming, and send it right back in? Let us know.
