Problem with a radio that I bought

Post by hawkspringsfire »

Ok here is the thing I was bidding on a Motorola MCS2000 on ebay and the auction was getting down to the final hours. I was reading over everything and read the fine print. In the fine print it said radio has a Error Code 9/10. From what I have been told I am SOL on the radio and out $$$. What should I do with it???

Error codes are different from Fail codes, in that error codes generally do not impede basic radio function - just whatever part is indicated won't work. Error 09/10 indicates a secure hardware failure. In this case, it probably means that the secure module is missing, altogether. If you weren't expecting encryption capability, simply reprogram the radio and turn off the "Secure Hardware Equipped" setting, and the error should go away.

On the other hand, if you were expecting encryption capability, and/or the module is there but is not responding correctly, that's a different story, but advise us further on the situation.
