gp300 DTMF

i have a gp300 with the DTMF front and was wondering if, and how you make it do DTMF? it doesnt put out any tones when i press a key

First thing to find out is if the radio's chassis is one that does DTMF. You might
have a standard radio in a DTMF case. As I recall, and it's been a while since I
worked on one of these, there is a DTMF flex that connects to a connector on
the radio, IF the radio was built as a DTMF radio.

Don't have the software in front of me, but if I remember you have to create a DTMF signaling system I think it's the F6 key in the main menu. Then in every channel that you want to use the phone pad on, you have to enable the DTMF signalling system.

That is, if your radio is a true DTMF radio (as what tom said).
