cdm1550 LS+ can't read error

Post by rrfd43 »

I got a branddy new cdm1550 LS+ from motorola and I am not able to read or write it. When attempting to read it I get the following two errors: "Unsupported Model" and "Application does not support reading this file". When I just try to clone it with the other CDM1550 LS+ codeplug I have I get: "Couldn't create instance on the device after getting UUID" and "unable to get code plug from device in order to verify weather we can write this device or not".

Now I am using 6.07 and took my set up to work and read two of our other new CDM1550LS+ radios without any problem. I would expect a codeplug to new error if this was a problem so I assume I have a bad radio unless anyone has an idea what is going on......

I guess the first question is have you tried to copy one of the other codeplugs into the radio?

You need CPS 6.09.06, for some reason the CPS is spitting out the wrong error with the latest codeplug versions

Leave it to Motorola to release a firmware version and then not update their radios on the shelves.... creates lots and lots of fun when the shipped firmware version is defective (think 10.0 for Astro or 3.01.xx for Comm Series)

I think all the radio CPS versions are like that now. You read a radio with older CPS and get some semi random error that doesn't even come close to telling you that you have an outdated CPS. Whatever happened to codeplug too new, that was pretty universally recognizable.

Well I will set up the newer edition and see what happens. I'm surprised I could not just write my older codeplug in it, I know they are the same model and features.

Thanks all!

Yep, codeplug too new for this application. Figure they could have just put that message....
