Define "DOS mode". Are you using a DOS box under Windows, and if so , which version of Windows is it?

you have to program a gm300 with rss that runs in dos, not a dos window and you need to run it on a system formatted fat32, not ntfs. i hope you mean a ribless cable plugged into the serial port and not a usb, usb cables can't run in dos like that

Ok,,when i mean DOS mode is,,i use a Windows Milenium CD to start the PC with CD rom support...not using the the DOS prompt,,but mabe the probleam the Windows i have in the Hard drive its XP pro,,,you´re sayng must be in FAT32,,ok,,that way i need another hard drive formated like that,,with only DOS.
I´ll try and then i´ll say something.
..and the RIB ..is a serial,,9 pins
,,But what is RSS ?..is the software ?

Please read what has been posted in reply to your questions.
Briefly stated, here is what you should be doing or are now doing
wrong:

1. You must run the RSS in DOS mode. That means boot from DOS.
The DOS you run under Windows 98 or Windows XP WILL NOT WORK WITH THE MOTOROLA RSS.

2. You need to use a RIB and a standard programming cable that
connects to the serial port on your computer. As you were already
told, a USB cable will not work with DOS. You need a RIB to run
and use RSS; a ribless cable often will not work and in some
cases it can not work.

3. Since you apparently obtained your program from an outside,
unauthorized, source, there is a good chance that it is corrupt and
won't ever work.
