CM series programming cable

Post by citylink_uk »

Hi all,

I've tried to read my CM140 radio from a multi-cable but I just an "Error 512" message.

Is there a specific cable needed for programming?

Thanks
Al

Try using the search feature on this board, and I'm sure you'll find a schematic of the CM160 cable.

I often reccomend programming via the rear accessory socket on Commercial Series mobiles such as the CM140/340 and CM160/360 as several people have tried to use old GM300 and GM350 mobile leads which "sometimes" work. They also "sometimes" crash the radio!!!
The rear socket is easy to make a lead up for and has proven reliable. Just remember the pin numbers are numbered up/down rather than from left to right

Hope you make your lead ok.
UR AVERAGE LIFE EXPECTANCY RAPIDLY DEGRADES THE MINUTE U BECOME A SERVICE ENGINEER
Dropping a radio into a toilet filled with "used" water is NOT "slight water damage"
PLEASE don't send it in for repair! (Or at least drain it first)

Thanks for the advice.

My friend lent me his ribless cable and that's worked for the program this time.
