Hi
Can any one tell me if i can prog a M110 and Mc-Micro with this rib ?
If so any diagrams for making the lead to do it.

RLN4008E is the latest revision of the Motorola RIB (Radio Interface Box)
Your RLN4008B is just an earlier revision and would be perfectly fine for programming a Motorola M110 or MC Micro.
You can make one of three leads to program these models, either would be fine.
The first plugs into the microphone socket (RJ45 socket)
The second plugs into the rear accessory port (same connector plug as an old computer joystick or gamepad)
The third plugs into the socket behind the front head (you have to undo the two long bolts on the front panel and gently pull the head forward to remove and gain access to this socket)
If you struggle to find the relevant connectors you can simply remove the casings and temporary solder your programming lead wires straight onto the pcb riser pins that go to the rear of the large head connector mentioned in the third lead description. This is ok for "one off" programming of a M110 or MC Micro.
You may want to look up on Batlabs website for information on the jumper settings on the main board. Zero ohm resistors are used as jumpers and are scattered all over the main board. I can't remember off the top of my head what all of these are for but know that occassionally a radio will not read if one of these particular jumpers is in place or cut
Also be aware that there were A LOT of these available on the second-hand market at one point, that had ANI boards fitted. These were non-motorola automatic numbering identifier boards and are double-sided taped inside the radio body with approx. 6 wires coming off and tapped onto various points. Should it be one of the large batch of these modified M110's please be aware that if one of these ANI boards is present you will not be able to read/write the radio until it is removed and reverse engineered as pcb tracks were cut and jumpers alterred etc etc
The boards were about 1 inch by 1 1/2 inches in size and will be fairly obvious to recognise.

Hello G7LQY, I built the homebrew rib from Batlabs and most of my programming revolves around mobil radios. I cut an old cat5 cable and hard wired into my RIB to plug into the mic jack. If I need to do any portables I plug the cat5 connector into a matching socket with wires coming out of it to tape or connect to the proper points. Works for me.

as i would like to keep just 1 programmer (rib) for all my radios
