help with r2400A service monitor...

Post by radio64 »

Hi!

I recently upgraded my collection of 'stuff' with a 2400A service monitor. I seem to be having a problem with the transmit portion of the monitor however. When I put it into transmit, I can hear the tone(s) but it appears the monitor is not transmitting them over the air... radios and pagers right next to the antenna don't even pick anything up. I don't happen to have access to a service manual for this critter, so I can't begin to diagnose the problem. Anybody have any suggestions? Any service manuals (and maybe operations manuals) around that might be able to find themselves my way? And, lastly: anybody know of any boards laying around that I can turn this into a 2410 (provided I get the transmit to work first...) Thanks all. Ben N2ROQ

What radios do you own?: What's a radio?

1) Which port are you generating from, the antenna or the RF I/O?
2) Are your receivers quieting at all?
3) Is your monitor set for FM? Or is it set for AM or CW mode?
4) How much deviation do you have the monitor set to?

Hi Dave. After your post, I double checked all your questions and oddly enough, it IS working. I tried my radios and pagers and it works. Just wanted to follow up to advise I had a couple settings turned down too far... Thanks again. Ben N2ROQ

Anybody have a dead 2400 that they might be willing to give up the card for the 2410 option? All offers considered... Thanks, Ben N2ROQ
