Maxtrac PA

Post by kb9rre »

Is there anyway of indentifying the PA for frequency range when label is missing?

Hello :
Id think the best way would be to compare it to the manual as to paticular parts .
But i have three Maxtrac PAs here in front of me now and ill list what i believe could help you id it closer.

D43 PA = 45 watt and its band is 146 to 174 mhz.
Metal shield with the coax leads coming out of it = 26-80223M05
Not all shields had the black ink number stamped on them but if yours does here you go =HLD3010A
Bd number near the power pos in and long black component =84D80292M04
White PA finals = lg one /M1104 and sm one/M2518

D44 PA = 40 watt and is 449 to 470 mhz.
Metal shield with the coax leads coming out of it = 26-80223M05
Not all shields had the black ink stmp but if yours does here it is =HLE3011A
Bd number near the power pos in and long black component = 84D80906V04
White PA finals = lg one/M25C24 and sm one / M2519

D35 PA = 15 watt 800 mhz .
Metal shield with coax shields coming out of it =26-80223M06
Not all shields had the black ink stamp but if yours does here it is = HUF1054B
Bd number near pos power in near lg black protection diode = HLF4097A
Large Blue Pa block3/4 in by 1 1/2 in long (Aprox)=51-80110E01

Just out of couriousity let us know what numbers you have on these versus mine listed.

Or what PA parts did or did not match up to yours.

There are several power ranges and it possible you have a 25 watt version and if memory serves me corect they had only one final in them .

I do have that i just dug out of stock a BRAND NEW maxtrac 25 watt pa replacement bd in the 146 to 174 mhz spread.
Minus the pa = Motorola did not send this bd out with the final
( technition instals it) Or it doesnt use another final and its complete as is = Im not sure / Id need to check it against the repair manual to see for sure.
Its part number is Motorola number HLD4324A
Circuit bd number = 84D80926T03-B
Black ink stamp number will be = HLD4324A

Hope this helps.

There is also a LPI, 2 watt VHF and UHF, PA that does not have the 'final' transistor.

BTW I am looking for the VHF LPI Maxtrac PA.
