Hello,
I recently hooked up my Motorola Spectra System 9000 with the cable I got today. My radio is connected to my power supply, and my control head is connected to the "Control Unit" connector. I am not getting any response with my control head, and it will not power up.
Any suggestions??
Thanks
Dylan

Start by looking here:

Check to see if your ignition sense connection has been done correctly.
Almost all Motorola mobiles require an IS connection in addition to the
high-current power wiring. If you don't need ignition sense then just
tie the IS hot wire to the positive power wire.

Re: Spectra Help
Thanks Tom, I am still somewhat confused because my cable does not have the green and orange ignition cables, it just has the speaker port.
Thanks

Re: Spectra Help
It sounds like you have a cable for a rear control head.

Yes, I am using a trunk mount A9 with the System 9000 Control Head.

Re: Spectra Help
Some Spectras can use two control heads. The heads are called front and rear. The control cable to the front head has the green and orange wires for receiver and ignition transmitt control voltages. The front head also has the off-on switch. It sounds like you have a rear control cable and are trying to use it as your only control cable.

Re: Spectra Help
Yes.
Can the cable be modified or should I just buy a new cable?
Also, What is the model number of the cable I would need?
Thanks Alot
