Hi,
Looking at some MTX638s, but the model number doesn't seem to be in the usual
sequence for MTSX radios. ie H01SDD etc
I have some MTX838's that are H01SDD9DB4AN (450-520Mhz)
but the 638 seems to be something completely different.
Maybe it's an "Aussie" thing?
Model no on these 638s is AZPO5VJG25N1AA
Can't seem to figure that one out. Obviously looking in the wrong place.
What are these? Band etc?
Thanks

- What radios do you own?: XTS2500, XTS5000, and MTS2000
Re: MTX638 - Model no Breakdown
just a wild hair guess but alot of non-US Jedi's have "weird" model numbers on their tags. I've had several MTS2000 VHF's that came from the UK. All of them had weird "P20xxx" numbers on the ID tag, but when read with CPS/RSS, were "standard" Jedi model numbers (ie, H01KDH9PW1BN) and no problem being programmed with US CPS...have you attempted to read any of those "odd model" MTX638's with RSS? What does the RSS report the model number being?

Yeah, I've certainly seen that.MTS2000des wrote:just a wild hair guess but alot of non-US Jedi's have "weird" model numbers on their tags.
Well, that's the problem, they are on ebay and I am debating whether to buy them, but not much value if they aren't either VHF 150-155Mhz or UHF 476/477MhzMHz capable.MTS2000des wrote: I've had several MTS2000 VHF's that came from the UK. The latter would make them usable on UHF CB, the former, our Cadet unit repeater is in that range so...

My guess this is a GP300 series radio. Could also be a GTX. But not a Jedi radio.
