HT1250
Hi was wondering if anyone knows if there is an issue with CPS programming newer HT1250's. We are not able to program the version 5.9xxxxxx(i believe thats the number) and above. Do we need a new version of CPS? This is a legit copy purchased by my fire dept. to program portables and mobiles. We can program the older 1250's no problem.
Re: HT1250
Sounds like a codeplug mismatch between the codeplug(not firmware) version in your new HT and the structure of the codeplug that your version of CPS wants to see.
You don't buy the CPS: you buy a license or subscription to use the CPS for a period of three years. Updates to your subscription are free until your subscription ends. So if your subscription has expired, you need to purchase a new one from M. If your subscription has not expired, you should have received updates from M since you purchased it. You didn't say what version of the CPS you're trying to use, but it sounds like it's ancient: R06.10.02 is the current one.

Re: HT1250
Yeah my guess is that its probably the first release that handles the HT1250., I just joined the communication team so I am not positive on the software version, I am playing catch up big time. So if this is software version causing problems that means that should we buy a new license the update should take care of the issue? We have a bunch of newer 1250's that are in queue to be programmed.

Re: HT1250
there was just a major cutoff with the ht's & cdm's so if your ht's are newer and have firmware over 5.13.04 then you need at least cps 6.09.06 to read them. i'm not shure about the numbers you have listed so check those first. what error pops up on the screen when you try to read them?

Ok, this is what I figured, I am not really that well versed in M software so I am basically trying to learn everything I can as quickly as I can as the last comm's guy is not really around much anymore and I am taking over. I imagine if we had a previous license it shouldn't be that hard to get another one. Is there a .PDF manual for the CPS software out there somewhere? I looked all over the moto site and couldn't seem to come up with anything. I mean it is pretty intuitive software but it would be nice to be fully versed so I can think of specific questions when I begin to take over this role. I am not a newbie to radios and communications but I haven't done a lot of programming because we had a repair depot that dealt with this at my old department.

not shure about the pdf but you can open the cps and on the task bar there is a help section you can start looking thru or click on the help part and use the pointer to click on what you have questions about and it will bring up the help section for what you clicked on? if that helps?

In CPS you can right click on nearly anything and get detailed help. Even if you can't get a right click menu out of something you can sometimes go to the ? help tool and click with that.38ffems wrote:Ok, this is what I figured, I am not really that well versed in M software so I am basically trying to learn everything I can as quickly as I can as the last comm's guy is not really around much anymore and I am taking over.
