Syntor-X wiring harness question.
I have an 8-mode Syntor-X that I'd like to put in my van. However, there's a red and blue wire that isn't connected to anything on the control head end of the wiring harness.

Re: Syntor-X wiring harness question.
As I recall, that's normal in your configuration. I used to know what it was for but can't remember at the moment. Someone else on here should know.
This is one reason the X9000 is so much nicer than the X...you don't have to mess with all those Systems 90 plugs and jumpers and so forth...

Re: Syntor-X wiring harness question.
It should go to pin 34 on the radio connector (you can check it with an ohm meter):

Depending on the setup and personality board, it is an unused spare or it is used for single tone encoders, MDC600 or DVP encryption heads.
The entire personality board pin out and standard wire color codes are shown here:

The 68P81110E93 Systems 90*S Accessory Group Installation Instructions manual has more detailed information. The manual for whatever accessory head is used has the rest of the info:

So I guess I'll tape it off and ignore it.Mike B wrote:It should go to pin 34 on the radio connector (you can check it with an ohm meter):
