Re: Maxtrac error beeps
One beep is normal.
A second single beep usually means the radio is programmed for Emergency Switch operation and that jumper is missing on the 16-pin accessory plug (pins 7-9).
Any other beeps are related to the code plug, EPROM, EEPROM, or CPU, and if reprogramming doesn't fix it, replace the logic board.
The list of error codes is in the MaxTrac service manual, and that CAN be found on the web.

Re: Maxtrac error beeps
Page 2 of my manual lists the error codes for conventional and trunking radios; for conventional:
900 Hz, 119 ms.=normal operation
163 Hz, 5 seconds=codeplug error
163 Hz, continuous=logic board failure
300 Hz, 200 ms.=button press error
150 Hz or 112.5 Hz, continuous while PTT is held=transmit not allowed(may be timeout).
